DESCRIPTION:If some say that data is the new oil\, then spatio-temporal dat
a is the new palla-dium. It is extremely valuable and increasingly crucial
for how our social life isstructured and made possible. e analogy obvious
ly does not work that well. While palladium is a rare metal &ndash\; spatio
-temporal data is produced and minedin abundance. For spatial analysts\, i
ncluding geographers\, this new abundanceof spatio-temporal data has led t
o a rush in nding different applications forthis data. ose concerned with
the ethics of new data sources and geodatatechnologies have mainly focused
on how the data and its characteristics mayharm individuals and groups. i
s talk will focus on the ethics of spatio-tempo-ral data beyond the data.
I will discuss how broader data and technology ethicsconcerns link in spec
ic ways to the use of spatio-temporal data. With the talk\,I make a case f
or a more proactive and continuous re-visibilising of geo-spatialdata infr
astructures &ndash\; the infrastructures needed to make big-data geo-analy
sispossible. I contend that doing so is crucial if we want to work within
 ethicallysustainable geodata ecosystems.\nFurther information:www.geograph
