DESCRIPTION:Two fundamental macroevolutionary processes affect the dramatic
  differences in biodiversity on Earth: Diversification within and dispersa
 l between areas. Mutation\, recombination\, and genetic drift contribute a
 t microevolution scales. Today\, evolutionary processes can be studied wit
 hin phylogenetic frameworks in unprecedented detail. However\, current fin
 dings on model congruence raised concerns about the general identifiabilit
 y of most fundamental evolutionary parameters\, such as the rates of speci
 ation and extinction. I will discuss existing approaches to studying speci
 es diversification in flowering plants. Empirical work examples underpin h
 ow combined ecologic and phylogenetic information can be used to infer the
  most basic principles in species evolution.\n***\nAbschlussvortrag im Hab
 ilitationsverfahren - G&auml\;ste sind herzlich willkommen!\n&nbsp\;Sonder
 termin ohne Post-Kolloquium.\n&nbsp\;
