Advice for listeners
For whom the colloquium is intended for?
The colloquium is open for all students, doctoral students, post-docs and professors in the field of ecology and environmental sciences. It facilitates to broaden one’s professional horizon without the constraints of the disciplines and to gain new insight into the methods of science, economy and politics.
The colloquium takes place during the semester on Thursday 5:00 pm in H12 (NWI-building). An updated overview of the topics with short abstracts can be found on the webpage. The speakers are asked to focus their presentations on questioning, experimental approach and results rather than on methodological details. After a talk of 45 minutes, there is time for questions and discussion, which can be continued afterwards over beer and pretzels.
Who organizes the colloquium?
From winter-semester 2008/2009 BayCEER-colloquium replaces the Geoecology colloquium. It is organized by the Bayreuth Center of Ecology and Environmental Research BayCEER, the represented chairs and departments as well as the master course Global Change Ecology. Contact person for the organization is Johannes Lüers.
