DESCRIPTION:ABSTRACT Soil bacterial communities play a pivotal role in ecos
 ystem function\, they drive global carbon and nutrient cycles and influenc
 e climate regulation. While most soil bacteria get their energy from organ
 ic matter derived from photosynthesis\, a significant number also utilize 
 various inorganic compounds and atmospheric trace gases such as hydrogen\,
  carbon monoxide and methane. In this seminar\, I will present my research
  on the energy dynamics driving microbial biodiversity and primary product
 ion in cave ecosystems and discuss the broader implications for soil biodi
 versity and our planet's climate.\n
