DESCRIPTION:Increasingly common opinions are that some environment related 
 disciplines are based on environmental analytics and monitoring. A special
  attention should be paid to chromatography mainly gas chromatography main
 ly gas chromatography which very often is indispensable in analysis of som
 e complex environmental samples. However\, many analytical tasks cannot be
  solved by direct use of GC due to:\n- incompatibility of sample aggregati
 on state\;\n- too low concentration of analytes\;\n- in sufficient volatil
 ity of analytes\;\n- too high abundance of interferences\;\n- present in w
 ater\;\n- chemical similarity of analytes\; \n- too large differences in c
 oncentration of analytes from the same chemical class.\nGas chromatography
  application in the above mentioned situations is possible only when the p
 roper sample preparation is applied. This thesis will be proved by present
 ing some original work done in the Department of Analytical Chemistry of t
 he Chemical Faculty of the TUG.The examples are as follows: \n- physical s
 peciation of PAH\'s and PCB\'s in aquatic environment\; \n- determination 
 of volatile chloroorganic compounds in human urine\; \n- new devices for d
 etermination of metaloorganic pollutants\; \n- application of thermal deso
 rbers coupled to GC\;\n- application of denuders and passive dosimeters in
  studies of indoor\nair and workplace atmosphere
