DESCRIPTION:\nLoess and loess like sediments cover approximately 80 % of th
 e Vovjodina region (Northern Serbia). Vojvodinian loess-paleosol sequences
  are among the oldest and most complete loess sediments in Europe. Loess-p
 aleosol sequences of Srem\'s and Titel\'s Loess Plateau reaching almost wi
 th maximal thickness of 40 m preserves paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmetal
  records of the Middle and Upper Pleistocene. With resepct to the great im
 portance of loess-paleosol sediments located in Vojvodina\, the number and
  level of investigations\, so far\, are relative low\, despite their speci
 al position between well-studied western/central European and eastern Euro
 pean loess areas and between \'classical\' loess-covered latitudes and Med
 iterranean loess. In 1997 Quaternary research centre of Novi Sad Universit
 y began multidisciplinary investigations of loess-paleosol sequences in Vo
 jvodina. Results of this research project revealed great potential for det
 ailed reconstruction of natural processes coupled with climatic change dur
 ing the last 850 ka in this part of Europe.
