DESCRIPTION:Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) is a parastatal o
 rganization under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism responsibl
 e for conducting\, supervising and coordinating wildlife research in the C
 ountry. Its main role is to advice wildlife managers (Rangers/Warden\, Eco
 logists.) on better wildlife management using wildlife research findings. 
 Also\, the institute through the research findings obtained has a role of 
 advising the government towards better wildlife policy development.\nOur m
 ission is to carry out and coordinate wildlife research in the United Repu
 blic of Tanzania with an overall objective of providing scientific informa
 tion and advice the Government and wildlife management authorities on the 
 sustainable conservation of wildlife\, consonant with the national vision 
 2025\, that is sustainable conservation of natural resources. To fulfill t
 hese mandates\, the institute has developed working tools\, of which\, one
  of the tools is the ‘’Tanzania Wildlife Research Agenda. Formulation of w
 ildlife research agenda involves conduction of a workshop that brings toge
 ther key stakeholders - Rangers/ecologists/Managers\, Universities\, conse
 rvation NGOs to identify research needs and deliberates on priorities.
