Learning Objective: Aim of this module is to teach fundamental knowledge in international environmental law.
Course Content:
After a general introduction to structures, functions, sources and implementation of international law, the basic principles of environmental law will be discussed (sustainability, prevention, "producer pays" and liability principles).
In particular, the course deals with international law and agreements between nations on climate protection, biodiversity and other fundamentals for human existence on earth (e.g. the UN Convention UN-FCCC and UN-CBD).
