The Institution

The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest universities and
leading academic centres. It comprises 31 Colleges and over 150
departments, faculties, schools and other institutions. The Faculty of Education is the oldest and one of the most prestigious Education departments in the UK.  It runs Bachelors level degree courses in education. It also offers Masters and PhD level teacher education courses  for pre-service and in-service teachers.

Working Group

The Pathway group is led by Dr Mark Winterbottom, lecturer in science education, and based within the Science Education Centre at the Faculty of Education. Working part-time on the project are three staff members. James de Winter will lead coordination of the workshops and development of the community of practice. He is assisted by Emily Dutton, who is a museum-educator, currently also undertaking an MEd degree in museum education. He is also assisted by Fran Riga, who is research assistant of long-standing in the Faculty, and also nearing the completion of her own PhD.

Involvement in PATHWAY

UCAM has responsibilities across the work packages, but its main role will be in contributing to the development and running of workshops within the UK, and building a community of practice.
