The Institution

The KHLim, Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg, is a University College in Diepenbeek, near Hasselt, Belgium. KHLim is renowned for the high quality of its teaching and research programs. KHLim offers more than 40 bachelor and master programmes in a diversity of fields, including health care, social work, business & commerce, education, science & technology and media & design. LCUC’s strong commitment to research ensures state-of-the-art training programmes for its 6000 students.

Working Group

The Centre for Subject Matter Teaching builts up expertise in Science, Mathematics, Arts and Technology Education, especially in the field of (interdisciplinary) Pedagogical Content Knowledge PCK.
It ‘s main publications are on (a) standards of quality for PCK (b) interdisciplinary as an enrichment for PCK (e.g. music and physics).
Every school year the Centre organizes continuing training for secondary school teachers in mathematics, natural sciences, music, technology and computer science. The Centre organizes also various actions for science communication. 

Involvement in PATHWAY

KHLim is involved in all WP's, especially in WP4 (Developing Community of Practioners of Inquiry) and WP5 (Training and Diffusing Inquiry across Europe).
