DESCRIPTION:Why and how do plants evolve &lsquo\;endless forms most beautif
ul and most wonderful&rsquo\;\, along environmental gradients\, and from f
lowers to carnivorous traps?\nI study how plants diversify and adapt to th
eir environments by linking molecular data with ecological and organismic
perspectives. My work focuses on evolutionary questions such as how superg
enes and sex chromosomes evolve\, and how novel\, complex plant traits\, d
evelop\, evolve and diversify. Using field studies\, greenhouse experiment
s\, and genome sequencing of wild populations and species\, I aim to uncov
er the processes that connect genetic variation with ecological function a
 nd evolutionary innovation.\nAs a new BayCEER member\, I look forward to e
xplore interdisciplinary connections between ecology\, evolution\, and env
 ironmental change.
