we would like to announce first information about the upcoming 11th Symposium on Cladocera, which will take place in 2017 in Kulmbach, Germany.
Following the tradition, this triannual meeting will focus on a wide range of topics related to the biology of cladocerans, including their ecology, evolutionary biology and diversity thereby stressing their use as model organisms.
With the availability of the Daphnia genome, its status as a NIH-recognized model organism, and strong advances in fields such as Daphnia genomics, we hope that this aspect will be increasingly represented as well.
When: September 24th to 29th, 2017
Where: Kulmbach, Germany
Invited Speakers: Dieter Ebert & Ralph Tollrian
More information on the venue: The small town of Kulmbach is located in the heart of the Bavarian province Upper Franconia, near the origin of the river Main.
It offers a lot of history and culture and is especially famous for the beautiful castle Plassenburg, where the conference venue will be located, as well as its culinary delights (some call it the “secret capital of beer”). Kulmbach can be reached by train or car from international airports of Nuremberg (NUE), Munich (MUC) and Frankfurt (FRA)
Please feel free to share this information with colleagues who might find this event interesting, and mark the conference dates in your diaries!
