DESCRIPTION:Remote sensing is one of the most cost-effective approaches to 
 identify biodiversity hotspots and predict changes in species community co
 mposition. This is because it allows for complete spatial coverages of the
  Earth’s surface under study over a short period of time. Furthermore\, re
 mote sensing provides repeated measures\, thus making it possible to study
  temporal changes in biodiversity. In this seminar I will provide a concis
 e review of the potential of remotely sensed imagery to help track changes
  in species diversity\, and provide an overview of the potential pitfalls 
 associated with the misuse of such imagery to predict species diversity.
