  cohort 1 graduate  students2. planning of larger synthetic publications a
 t faculty level for a special journal issue 3. joint German and Korean dis
 cussion of where TERRECO is/should be going 4. listing of project themes f
 or cohort 2 students in preparation of  position advertising 5. establishi
 ng the basic framework for the TERRECO phase II DFG proposal\n \nThe short
  papers will focus on one of the following research clusters growing withi
 n TERRECO:\n1. Land Surface Properties and Exchange Processes2. Soil Carbo
 n\, Nitrogen and Water Interactions3. Catchment Hydrology and Biogeochemis
 try4. Integrating Biodiversity and Landscape Processes5. Social-Ecological
  Aspects of Landscape Function\nThe papers should feature results from the
  Soyang Lake Watershed.
