  PhD at the University of Canterbury, Department of Geography, Christchurch, New Zealand (Thesis title: “A climatology of particulate pollution in Christchurch”; download complete document).
• 1998 - 2005
  Diplom (MSc. equivalent) in Geography, Geology and Biology at the University of Erlangen (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen- Nürnberg); Diplom thesis: “Locating potential sites for vegetation monitoring in the Etosha National Park, Namibia: a GIS – based approach”.

• 2010
  Fixed-term position as lecturer in the Department of Geography, University of Canterbury. Duties included contributions to a range of courses of physical geography such as GEOG 305: Environmental hazards management, GEOG 211: Environmental Processes: Research Practice, GEOG 309: Research Methods in Geography and curriculum development for GEOG 108: Resourses and Sustainability, among others.
• 2008
  Fixed-term position as lecturer in Climatology (GEOG 286/392: Climatology) Depratment of Geography, University of Otago. Duties for this position included development of a course at 200/300 level; 22 lectures + 5 supplementary laboratory excersises. Additionally, small group supervision for GEOG380: Field research methods (Science).
