The working group component-specific isotope analysis is a cooperation of users of the stable isotope analysis facilities of BayCEER. They share the interest of stable isotope analysis in individual compounds or component groups.
For component-specific analysis of stable isotopes of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen, different equipment is available:
- GC-C-IRMS: For isotope analysis of compounds to be analyzed by GC
- PreCon-GC-IRMS: For isotope analysis of trace gases that can be trapped and concentrated via PreCon traps in liquid nitrogen
- Pyrolysis-IRMS: For isotope analysis of oxygen and hydrogen in water and solids
