Links between productivity, flow paths and hotspots/moments
ESR 09
From 12/2014Principal Investigator: Anne Robertson
Staff: Ignacio Peralta-Maraver
Objectives of this project:
- to determine protozoan and micro-metazoan metabolic activity/productivity in the hyporheic zone at the same time and scale as the characterization of biogeochemical conditions and flow paths
- to determine the relationship between metabolic activity and productivity and reactive hot spots/moments and flow paths on-site and in a controlled flume setting
- to examine protozoan-micro-metazoan grazing on N-microbes and implications for grazing rates
- to link secondary production in the hyporheic zone to the fate of micropollutants
