The Ear - "The Hearing of Sound"

Content

Following an academic introduction to the topic, participants are given a didactical overview about modelling inquiry based lessons. The teaching advantages of the inquiry approach are presented both in general and applied to the interdisciplinary example. Subsequently, the attendants conduct the experiments on the inquiry learning stations in small groups, in order to also gain insight into the pupil’s perspective. In doing so, the calculated, pupil-centered learning can be comprehended first-hand.

The stations are teacher independent, meaning they can be realised by the pupils on their own and are designed for the curriculum of year seven middle schools in Biology (7.2: Communitcation and Information Processing: Design and Function of a Sensory Organ & Protection of the Senses) as well as Physics (7.3: Acoustics).
