1 Plant and soil responses to drought: Interdisciplinary approaches and views

Leitung: Andrea Carminati and Steven Higgins

Donnerstag, 11:15-12:45, H36, NW III

Drought is a primary constraint on plant growth worldwide. In this session we invite multidisciplinary contributions about plant response to drought, drought impact on ecosystems (including agricultural production), large scale monitoring and modelling approaches, as well as physiological studies, including below- and above-ground processes and their feedbacks. Effects of drought on soil processes, soil organic matter dynamics, with particular attention to the processes taking place at the root-soil interface (including mycorrhiza) and the ability of microorganisms to adapt to severe soil drying and rapid rewetting are welcome.
