Luis Bastidas is a researcher at the Chair of Sociology of Religion and Culture at the University of Bayreuth and a fellow of the Social Studies of Religion research group at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá. His research interests include the sociology of knowledge, religion, popular culture, violence, everyday life, and visual research methods.

Maria Papenfuss is a research associate at the University of Bayreuth at the Department for Religious Studies and affiliated with ICONOS Instituto de Investigación en Comunicación y Cultura (Mexico City). Her research is focused on neopaganism, religion and nature, Afro-American religions, online religion, urban religion, esoteric practices and magic, religion in Latin America, indigenous religions, transdisciplinarity, grounded theory and qualitative empirical methods.
