Arrival by plane

The closest international airports are in Nuremberg (~110km), Munich (~250km), and Frankfurt/Main (~270km). The airports in Leipzig (~200 km) and Dresden (~240 km) are not easily accessible by public transport from Kulmbach.

Arrival by train

The nearest ICE train stations are in Bamberg, Coburg and Nuremberg. These cities are connected to Kulmbach by Deutsche Bahn (German Railway) and private railway companies. For train connections, please check https://www.bahn.com/en.

Public transport

Depending on your starting point, FLIXBUS and other public transport options might be an option as well. Be aware, that those kinds of transport usually only serve Bayreuth as destination and you then have to connect via regional Bus or train to Kulmbach. 

Car

Kulmbach is approximately a 30-minutes drive from Bayreuth via the road B85. Although Kulmbach is well connected by road, we do not recommend arriving by car, as parking availability within the city is limited.

Conference location

The conference will take place at the Old Spinnery (ASP), the main lecture building of the Campus Kulmbach. The entrance is located directly next to the central bus station (ZOB). Signs on site will guide you to the venue.
