Real time measurements of dissolved gas concentrations to quantity oxygen turnover in the hyporheic zone
ESR 16
From 12/2014Principal Investigator: Rolf Kipfer
Staff: Andrea Popp
Objectives of this project:
- to carry out on-site in situ and quasi-continuous dissolved gas measurements using membrane inlet mass-spectrometry (MIMS), including further instrument developments towards miniature and longterm autonomous system
- to determine O2 turnover as overall measure for chemical and microbiological degradation processes on environmental relevant scales (minutes - days, 10-1 - 1000 m)
- to use dissolved noble gases to determine water residence times
