Tropical Alpine Areas at Mount Elgon

Mount Elgon provides easy access to undisturbed montane forests, bamboo thickets, Hagenia woodlands, heathlands and alpine moorlands. Especially the high elevation vegetation zones may be accessed by vehicle to 3500 m. Camping and bandas are available near the entrance at 2100 m as well as a camp site at the end of the road at 3500 m.
