• fungal diversity and ecology with emphasis on ectomycorrhizal and other soil fungi
• combined morphological-anatomical and molecular methods for characterisation and identification of fungal cultures and ectomycorrhizas
• functional analysis of mycorrhizas and soil microbiota under different environmental conditions
• development of microscale methods to assess functional diversity of fungi
