Old-Growth Evergreens in Ethiopian Forests

Old-Growth Evergreens in Ethiopian Forests

2008-06-19

This scaffolding from Forest Damage Research of the former BITÖK has been redirected: the chair of the Plant Ecology department is investigating, as a partner of the Munessa Forest Project, how the physiological characteristics of coniferous, deciduous, and evergreen trees differ. Tree growth, photosynthesis and transpiration data are recorded and combined with nutrient availability, moisture content and the rate of mycorrhization of the soil. The goal of the Munessa Forest Project is a inception of a reforestation program for the alpine forests of Ethiopia.
