  • Plant systematics:
    Phylogenetics/-omics of Urtica and Hypericum, integrated alpha- and higher-level taxonomy of Hypericum
  • Biodiversity:
    Global biodiversity patterns in Erica and Hypericum, tropic-alpine ecosystems as biodiversity hotspots (cradles or museums?), phylogeography of ongoing radiations: understanding the “how” the radiation happens.
  • Macroevolution:
    Historical biogeography of Erica and Hypericum, niche shifts as drivers of evolution (mainly Hypericum), model selection approaches in phylogenetic frameworks,  diversification dynamics in island systems (diverse clades)
