Excursion "Fränkische Schweiz"
An excursion exploring the biogeographic characteristics of the surrounding scenic landscape "Fränkische Schweiz" by foot/ bus or a kayak river trip can be joint on the 6th of May (Saturday). In the afternoon you will visit the castle "Giechburg".

Please consider bringing a snack/ lunch and enough water to drink with you as the excursion lasts an entire day. There will be the possibility of grabbing a locally brewn beer or something to eat during a break at noon in the inn/ restaurant "Held Bräu" (please bring cash money with you if you'd like to consume something). The bus company also sells beverages.
Kayak tour
The short route is suitable for a leisurely trip on the Wiesent river. The trip is in open 2-person kayaks or 3-person canoes. On the 5 km long boat trip, you paddle past rocks, meadows and forests as well as Rabeneck Castle. Two small weirs have to be negotiated and two small rapids provide a splashing pleasure. After a 1.5-2 hour trip through the picturesque Wiesenttal valley, you reach your destination in Doos.

Important to know:
Clothes will get a bit wet - please wear appropriate sports/leisure clothing and
wear suitable footwear - remember rainwear in case of bad weather! Bring a complete change of clothes and shoes. Bring insect/sun protection if necessary. Alcohol, glass bottles and jukeboxes are not allowed (nature conservation).
