Science School on La Palma
The Department of Biogeograpy and Disturbance Ecology have a long tradition in organising science schools on La Palma in the frame of Global Change Ecology (M.Sc.). Science schools typically cover two weeks on La Palma, Canary Islans, followed by more flexible time of data analyses and result presentation at Bayreuth University. The block course covers biogeographical excursions, keynote lectures and discussions as well as intensive field work and data analyses. Each group of three participants will develop specific research questions, choose adequate methodologies and conduct a phase of field work and data collection. Lecturers accompany each step with discussions and practical help. We are very happy about a large number of external referees as well as constant support from the Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente, La Palma.
