Influence of forest management on biodiversity - Insights from the Steigerwald and beyond
Temperate forests in Europe under the current climatic conditions are dominated by Beech trees. The area of the Steigerwald forest harbors one of the most steep gradients of management intensity in beech, providing an excellent research platform for a better understanding of biodiversity patterns in temperate forests. I will present results from Steigerwald, European beech forests and Fagus orientalis forests in Iran.
