Online-Voting: Klimawald Bayreuth second best

In March, the "Klimawald Bayreuth" was nominated for the Blauer Kompass of the German Federal Environment Agency - as one of 15 out of 160 proposed measures that will make a concrete contribution to counteracting the consequences of climate change in the coming decades. In the Online Voting the project ended on a second place - thanks for all who contributed to the 4550 votes! The climate forest was initiated by students of the master program "Global Change Ecology". For the competition, they have comprehensively updated the homepage of the Klimawald Bayreuth and supplemented it with photos of the activities.
The audience award is one of a total of four prizes to be won at the Blauer Kompass. All 15 nominated projects competed for it. In addition, an expert jury will select a winner in each of the three categories private/communal companies, educational/research institutions and associations/foundations on 24 April.
As further joint planting activities are impossible in the current situation, the nomination for the Federal Environment Agency's "Blauer Kompass" is a welcome encouragement to continue to actively engage in climate protection and adaptation.
