Research interests:

  • Functional aspects of collective immunity in ants
    • collective disease resistance in ant societies when fighting fungal pathogens
    • hygienic brood care
  • Ectoparasitic fungal infections in ants
    • host-parasite system between Laboulbenia formicarum (from North America) and the invasive garden ant Lasius neglectus in Europe
    • origin of Laboulbenia formicarum in Europe
    • impact of this ectoparasitic infection on Lasius neglecuts.
