Getting to Jena

By train: Jena's Paradiesbahnhof station with IC and ICE connections is centrally located in the city centre. Information about local transport connections to the university can be obtained from the Deutsche Bahn timetable information service and the regional Mitteldeutsche Verkehrsverbund. You can easily reach the campus from the Paradiesbahnhof station on foot or quickly and easily by tram (see below). If you travel via the ICE connection Erfurt, you will reach Jena at the Westbahnhof. From there it is a ten-minute walk to the conference venue. Alternatively, you can reach the city center with bus line 15 directly from the station.

By long-distance bus: Long-distance buses arrive at the Jena long-distance bus terminal, directly opposite Paradiesbahnhof.

By car: Jena is located at the changeover Jena-Zentrum and Jena-Göschwitz on the A4 Dresden - Frankfurt am Main motorway, not far from the Hermsdorfer Kreuz motorway junction (intersection of the A4 with the A9 Berlin - Munich motorway). Coming from the A9, please take the A4 towards Frankfurt am Main at the Hermsdorfer Kreuz junction. The most convenient exit from the A4 is the Jena-Zentrum junction. From there, take the motorway (Stadtrodaer Straße) towards the city centre. Coming from Frankfurt am Main on the A4, it is best to use the Jena-Göschwitz junction and also follow the signs to Stadtzentrum (city centre).

Parking facilities: As there are hardly any parking spaces near the venue, please use your hotel car park or one of the public car parks or multi-storey car parks in the city centre if possible. The conference venue is easily accessible on foot from all points in the city centre.

By plane: The nearest commercial airports are Erfurt (distance approx. 50 km) and Leipzig/Halle (distance approx. 90 km), then continue your journey by train.

Tram & bus: Tram line 5 (stop: Ernst-Abbe-Platz). From the Paradiesbahnhof station, take tram line 5 in the direction of Ernst-Abbe-Platz. The trams run every 10 minutes. The journey takes about 5 minutes. Further information and timetables can be found here: Jenaer Nahverkehr. Bus line 5 (stop: Stadtzentrum Teichgraben) The best way to reach the city centre from the West-Bahnhof is to take bus line 15 in the direction of Rautal.
