Graduate Meeting DZG Evolutionary Biology

CO3: Cooperation, Communication, Coadaption

Post-Meeting Summary: 28th Graduate Meeting Evolutionary Biology
Dear Members of the German Zoological Society,
This year, the 28th Graduate Meeting of Evolutionary Biology was hosted in Bayreuth at the Department of Evolutionary Animal Ecology from April 12th to 14th, 2024. A total of 21 talks and 8 posters were presented, all of them presenting exciting and excellent research from all nooks of evolutionary biology, including – but not limited to – the meetings’ motto, “Cooperation, Communication, Coadaption”. The two plenary speakers were Jutta Schneider of the University of Hamburg, Germany, and Joël Meunier of the University of Tours, France. We were fortunate enough to have fantastic weather for the guided tour through the Ecological Botanical Garden on Saturday 13th, and for the poster session after which was promptly moved outdoors as well. Overall, the meeting offered plenty opportunities for the undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs, plenary speakers, and attending professors from the Department of Evolutionary Animal Ecology to mingle, network, and exchange ideas; both during the coffee breaks and the excursions into Franconian cuisine at dinner & beer garden in Bayreuth. The meeting of 30+ European scientists could not have been held without the generous support of the Deutschen Zoologischen Gesellschaft e.V. and the Universitätsverein Bayreuth e.V. Organizers were Taina Conrad and Maximilian Körner.
Best regards & see you next time,
Max Körner and Taina Conrad, Evolutionary Animal Ecology, Bayreuth

We are grateful to our sponsors at the DZG and the Universitätsvereins Bayreuth e.V.!
