Die IT-Fachgruppe ist Teil der Koordinationsstruktur von GBIF-Deutschland. Ihre Aufgabe besteht sowohl in der Zusammenführung aller verfügbaren technischen Informationen über existierende Software- bzw. Datenbankentwicklungen als auch in der Koordination des Informationsausstausches der im Bereich der Biodiversitätsinformatik aktiven Softwareentwickler.
