Research interests
I work as a Research Associate at the Department of Biogeography (University of Bayreuth) and contribute with my interdisciplinary background and interests. My interests include:
- Applying remote sensing and GIS methods for nature conservation, e.g. through the detection and quantification of land cover changes in and around protected areas
- Effects of land cover changes on spatial biodiversity patterns
- Capacity building related to remote sensing and GIS for conservation-oriented work using open source software
- Improving the communication and co-operation between conservation scientists and practitioners
