Abstracts

Abstracts can be uploaded via the abstract submission system either during online-registration, or later, using your login data obtained after completion of the registration procedure. Please upload your abstract, apply appropriate formatting and observe the deadline. Abstracts should be in English and comprise not more than 2200 characters (including spaces). Please indicate the presenting author using the submission system, it should be the first author listed.

When uploading your abstract, please indicate whether you prefer talk or poster. Talks will then be selected by the organizing committee depending on topic, overall number of submitted abstracts, and availability of time slots. In case an abstract submitted for oral presentation cannot be included in the program as talk due to time limitations, it will be still eligible for poster presentation. Authors will be notified in due time as to whether their abstract has been selected for a poster or talk/keynote presentation.

Presentation

Talks

Talks will be selected and assigned by the organizers from the submitted abstracts based on topic and available time slots. Oral presentations are scheduled as 15 or 20 minutes talk followed by 5 minutes discussion. The sessions will take place in the conference room K9 on Monday and Tuesday, which you access from the hotel foyer. On Wednesday, we will convene at the university campus.

A computer (i5, SSD, 8 GB RAM, Windows 10, PowerPoint 2019) and presenter stick (laser pointer/slide advancer) will be provided. Please upload your PowerPoint presentation to the presentation system in advance and prior to the start of the morning or afternoon session. You can also use your own laptop to present your talk. If you prefer a Mac with Keynote or another system, we kindly ask to bring your own computer. Our technical team will assist you in connecting your laptop prior to the session’s start. Please remember to bring the power cord and any necessary proprietary adapters required for your computer (e.g., in case of USB-C ports, which are particularly found on new laptop computers). The beamer in the session room will have an HDMI (and VGA) connection available. The beamer will be suited for presentations in 4:3 and 16:9 format.

Please arrive at least 25 minutes prior to the scheduled start of your session to ensure adequate time for upload of presentations or connection of your laptop, as well as any necessary adjustments. In order to avoid any delays in setting up your presentation (in particular in advance to the longer afternoon sessions) we highly recommend to even upload your presentation (or test your laptop connection) one day in advance (during the poster sessions or mixer). Our technical team will also make you familiar with the slide advancer and the microphone. When you leave the session, take your laptop and accessories with you. Please note that the organizers are not responsible for the security of personal laptop computers and other belongings.

Posters

Poster size should be DIN A0 format (841 mm wide x 1189 mm high) and in portrait orientation.
Design your poster easy to identify, with title, author(s), and the author affiliation(s) in the heading.

Every poster has been assigned a number which you find in the abstract book. Posters will be displayed in the conference room K9 from Sunday throughout the meeting. Poster sessions are scheduled in the afternoon on Monday (for posters with odd numbers) and on Tuesday (even numbers). Presenters are asked to be available at their poster during the respective session. We are happy to award a prize for posters that are favorite to the conference community!
