Jochen Krauss: Curriculum Vitae

ACADEMIC CURRICULUM VITAE

I have been working as a project leader since November 2006 in the group of Prof. Ingolf Steffan-Dewenter in the Department of Animal Ecology I, Population Ecology at the University of Bayreuth (Germany). My main research topics are “Effects of time delayed extinction on species diversity” in the EU project COCONUT and “Biotic interactions of endophytic fungi in different grass species”.

2003 - 2006 I worked as a PostDoc about "Effects of endophytic fungi in agricultural grass species on trophic interactions" in the group of Prof. Christine B. Müller in the Institute of Environmental Sciences at the University of Zürich (Switzerland). At the same time I continued with studies on landscape ecology and butterfly distribution in the Swiss Alps.

May 2003 Graduation in Agricultural Sciences as Dr. sc. agr.

1999 - 2003 I worked at my PhD thesis about "Effects of habitat fragmentation and landscape context on butterflies and vascular plants" in the Department of Agroecology of Prof. Teja Tscharntke at the University of Göttingen (Germany). The project was financially supported by the German Science Foundation (DFG).

1998 - 1999 I worked with chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) at the University of Berne (Switzerland) in the project "Tourism and Wildlife" in the research group of Ethology and Conservation of Prof. Paul Ingold.

1994/1995 I made my Magister- and Diploma thesis (= master thesis) at the University of Ulm (Germany) with the topic: "Collembolan and Proturan communities in spruce-stands, effects of a windfall and of treatments of soil surface with lime and composts" in the Institute of Ecology and Morphology of Animals of Prof. Werner Funke.

1989 - 1996 I studied Biology and Chemistry teacher at the University of Ulm (Germany), since 1993 also Biology diploma.
