O 1.7 in Session 1: Dynamics and conservation under global change

04.05.2023, 12:00-12:15, SWO conference room

The redistribution of alien species worldwide accelerated with the start of European colonialism. European powers were responsible for the transportation, introduction and establishment of alien species to their occupied territories and metropolitan state. We find that European colonial history is still detectable in alien floras worldwide and will explore the drivers behind this lasting imprint of European colonial activities on the global distribution of alien plants as we observe them today.
