O 4.8 in Session 4: From range dynamics to extinction
05.05.2023, 11:30-11:45, SWO conference room
One of the main objectives of ecological research and conservation science is to enhance our understanding of the processes that lead to species extinction. A potentially crucial mechanism of extinction is the dependence of contemporary biodiversity dynamics on past climate, or “climate legacy”. However, the general impact of climate legacy on extinction dynamics is unknown. Here, we present the results of a systematic literature review and meta-analysis to assess and summarise the effect of climate legacies on extinction dynamics from the existing literature.
