NATURE reports in the section ‘News & Views’ on a paper of the BayCEER – Laboratory of Isotope Biogeochemistry about the sink function of the greenhouse gas N2O during drought periods. This investigation is part of a project by Prof. Gerhard Gebauer within the Research Group 562 'Soil processes at extreme meteorological boundary conditions' supported by the German Research Foundation (Nature, Vol. 456 18/25 December 2008).
