Im Rahmen der Tagung bieten wir zwei touristische Angebote an. Die Anmeldung dafür erfolgt im Tagungsbüro beim Check-In und ist bis Dienstag, den 26.09.2023 um 12:00 Uhr möglich.
1. Führung durch das Haus Wahnfried - Richard Wagners Wohnhaus
Haus Wahnfried, 1874 von Richard Wagner und seiner Familie bezogen, und das dortige Leben entsprachen ganz dem bürgerlichen Ethos des späten 19. Jahrhunderts – ergänzt durch die ganz eigene kulturelle Sphäre, die von dem Komponisten ausging, der auch seine Ausnahmestellung betonte.
Die Räume der repräsentativen Villa sind im Wesentlichen um eine dominante Eingangshalle und den großen Saal gruppiert, Anziehungspunkt für eine illustre Schar an Besuchern und Besucherinnen aus den Bereichen Kultur, Politik und Ökonomie.

2. Guided Tour Iwalewahaus

On this tour, we will meet with the unexpected, the beauty, happiness, silence, noise, glitch, new and old stories interwoven with the Iwalewahaus and the collection.
As a unit of the Institute of African Studies at the University of Bayreuth, the Iwalewahaus maintains a collection of modern and contemporary visual arts from Africa, Asia and the Pacific Area that is unique within Germany. By doing academic research and teaching, developing exhibitions, by taking care of the collection and the archive as well as providing residencies for artists, recent developments in contemporary African and Diaspora culture and fine arts are documented, presented and actively developed in cooperation with artists and institutions since 1981.
The current exhibition “Floating Assemblies” provides different insights into contemporary artistic expression from South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Germany.

3. Guided Tour "Colonial Bayreuth"
by Florian André Unterburger (Historian)
Bayreuth's industrial prosperity is heavily based on colonial value added – without cotton, sugar cane or tobacco, the local industrialization would have taken a completely different course. Colonial connections and symbolism also played an important role during the baroque margravial era before. Together we will search for all these traces of colonial Bayreuth.
