About us
The BayCEER emerged from the BITÖK (Bayreuth Institute for Terrestrial Ecosystem Research), which existed from 1989 to 2004 and focussed on forest damage research. Today, around 30 working groups are dedicated to a wide range of networked ecological issues. BayCEER represents the focus on ecology and environmental research, which has existed since the University of Bayreuth was founded, also in terms of outreach & dialogue. In addition to the approximately 80 active members, external members and research alumni are associated with BayCEER through ongoing research projects.
