- Development of species-selective methods for preservation and analysis of inorganic and organometallic trace elements
- Investigations on abiotic and microbially catalyzed transformations in trace element cycles in field and laboratory studies
- Contaminant removal and rehabilitation studies
- Determination of the role of species transformations in toxicology
- Use of isotope fractionation for reconstruction of trace element cycles
- Compartments of interest: natural surface and groundwaters, seawater, Early Earth Analogues, mine sites, geothermal water and gases, mofettes, rhizosphere, biota, and foods (rice)
