  • StMUV: REINELUFFT? - Teilprojekt Luft ()
Ines Bamberger, Leyla Sungur, Johann Schneider, Sophie Arzberger, Christoph Thomas, Anke Nölscher [Details]

  • Reinigen Luftfiltersysteme von urbanem Stickstoffdioxid? (Reinelufft?)
[Details]

  • Illuminating the dark side of surface meteorology: creating a novel framework to explain atmospheric transport and turbulent mixing in the weak-wind boundary layer (ERC DarkMix)
Karl Lapo, Shravan Kumar Muppa, Anita Freundorfer, Lena Pfister, Mohammad Abdoli, Johann Schneider, Jannis Huss, Christoph Thomas [Details]

Completed Projects

  • Mitigation of urban climate and ozone risks (MiSKOR)
MiSKOR "Minderung Städtischer Klima- und OzonRisiken" "Mitigation of urban climate and ozone risks" Part of the joint project "Climate change and health (Klimawandel und Gesundheit) commissioned by the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (Bayerischen Landesamts für Gesundheit und Lebensmittelsicherheit). The goal is to attain a better understanding of the relevant causes and processes to acquire applicable aids and new possibilities for improving urban planning. We intend to give suggestions how to reduce the negative consequences to human health caused by climate change in combination with the urban heat island effect and high troposheric ozone pollution in a middle-sized city like Bayreuth and comparable cities in Northern Bavaria. • Einflüsse kohärenter Strukturen auf den Energie- und Stoffaustausch in hohen Beständen (BITÖK-A6)
Christoph Thomas, Jens-Christopher Mayer, Thomas Foken [Details]

  • Emission and Chemical Transformation of Biogenic Volatile Organic Compounds (ECHO)
Jens-Christopher Mayer, Christoph Thomas, Michael Kortner [Details]

Projects from other divisions

  • Atmospheric transport of microplastics (B05-SFB1357)
While microplastic particles typically remain airborne only for days up to weeks, they can be transported over large distances up to thousands of kilometers, undergo mechanical and chemical weathering and aging, and can be deposited on to terrestrial and aquatic surfaces. Atmospheric microplastics can be found even in the most remote ecosystems of the world such as the polar regions. The objective of the micrometeorology group is to ... [Details]

Completed Projects

  • Lufthygienisch-Bioklimatische Kennzeichnung des oberen Egertales (StMLU 111450)
Cornelia Gerwig (Klör), Claudia Liebethal, Matthias Mauder, Johannes Ruppert, Monika Soldner, Christoph Thomas, Thomas Foken [Details]
