We conduct research on a class of motions termed submeso-scale motions, which are larger than turbulence, but smaller than those of typical weather systems (meso-scale). They become important at night when winds are weak, and they dominate the transport (diffusion and dispersion) of heat and mass including pollutants and contaminants. Please follow the link below to access the webpage, on which you can find more explanations and videos clips on visualizations.
