PhD Thesis offered
Atmospheric transport of microplastic particles
Support: Christoph Thomas, Wolfgang Babel
PhD position to commence from now on for a funding period ending in December 2022.
You will work in the project aiming at characterizing how the atmospheric boundary layer acts as a pathway for dispersal and re- allocation of microplastic particles in the environment. You will combine two major micrometeorological techniques: conducting wind tunnel experiments on processes governing the atmospheric transport of microplastics, and large-eddy simulation modeling of microplastic dispersion in an idealized riparian zone.
