DarkMix: Characterizing fiber optic cables

The DarkMix team continues to work on characterizing the fiber optic cables that will be used in the Large Eddy Observation system, this time closer to home. Most recently a harp, similar to the one at Klöndeel, was installed in the Ökologisch-Botanischer Garten der Universität Bayreuth. One of the main goals of this work is to understand what types of temperature perturbations we can observe with the system.DarkMix's hardworking grad students, Anita and Lena, prep for setting up fiber optic cable in the garden on a very wet day.
