Influence of forest management on biodiversity - Insights from the Steigerwald and beyond

2017-07-06_JMueller-SteigerwaldTemperate forests in Europe under the current climatic conditions are dominated by Beech trees. The area of the Steigerwald forest harbors one of the most steep gradients of management intensity in beech, providing an excellent research platform for a better understanding of biodiversity patterns in temperate forests. I will present results from Steigerwald, European beech forests and Fagus orientalis forests in Iran.

The BayCEER Colloquium serves as an interdisciplinary platform for students, academics and interested citizens: during the lecture period, guests and members of BayCEER give insights into their research, which can then be discussed in plenary and in a relaxed atmosphere during the post-colloquium.
