Nature Correspondence: Integrate strategies to save biodiversity and groundwater

In December 2022 Jürgen Geist participated in the UN summit on Biodiversity in Montréal while at the same time Johannes Barth participated in the UN summit on Groundwater in Paris. Doubtlessly, important — but hardly explored— links exist between both topics and the project AquaKlif gives a good (albeit far too rare) example on how to address some of them. This led to a brief correspondence in the journal Nature. Clearly, we need more projects that work in this direction.
